One Last Time Forever

Composition Found

Some of you are aware that I am creating an experimental live cinema narrative called Suntalk. It is built around spoken word, the jaw harp as the primary instrument, and projection mapping with dance artists. The piece moves through key turning points of loss, grief and acceptance. I have been struggling with the show opener and composed four different versions that all felt wrong. At some point, I had to ask myself if I was forcing a pre-conceived idea onto it, pushing it into something it did not want to be. Yesterday I went to the studio with the intention of letting it become whatever it needed to be. I finally found it.
It reminded me that love can follow sorrow.
